Summer 2008
Summer 2008 has been a busy time for Troop 240.  Here are some of the trips we've taken:

  • Troop Summer Camp - Camp Mattatuck
    • This was our regular summer camp and everyone had a great time.  There were over 30 merit badges completed, as well as advancement for a number of scouts in different areas.
  • High Adventure Trip - Beaver High Adventure Base, Beaver, Utah
    • 8 of our older scouts organized this trip to Beaver Utah for a 7 day High Adventure trip.  This is the first time Troop 240 has attended a high adventure base, and the Foxtrot Patrol enjoyed a variety of challenges including shooting sports, climbing and the notorious 3-peak challenge - a 24 mile hike, covering 3 peaks (12,100 foot Delano and 2 others over 11,000 feet) - all in 15 hours!
  • Troop Family Camp Out - Acadia National Park, Maine
    • This was a great trip and allowed a number of scouts to continue working on cycling merit badge.  As well as cycling there was also hiking and a boat trip to Baker Island.
We'll be adding write-ups about these events soon - please check back to hear about our adventures!
